Euromaidan

Overview

#Euromaidan (#Євромайдан) refers to an ongoing series of protests in Ukraine that started in late November 2013 in response to the government’s suspension of signing diplomatic and trade agreements towards closer integration with the European Union.

Background

The civil unrest in Ukraine began on the night of November 21st, 2013, when a large-scale protest erupted across the capital city of Kiev shortly after President Viktor Yanukovych announced the suspension of finalizing diplomatic and trade agreements with the European Union (EU), in favor of protecting its long-standing relations with the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), a regional organization consisting of former Soviet republics under the political influence of Russia. The decision, which came after months of fast-tracking political reforms to meet the EU standards and consequent decline in trade relations with Russia, was immediately met by from those who sought a closer European integration.

Notable Developments

Mobilization

In reacting to the news, the opposition party leader Arseniy Yatsenyuk called for a protest to be held that same night via Twitter, asking people to gather at Maidan Nezalezhnosti (Independence Square) with the hashtag #Euromaidan. As the bulletin quickly spread throughout Ukrainian social networks and blogs, #Euromaidan became adopted as the banner of the pro-EU movement.

Street Protests

Euromaidan began as a peaceful assembly of 2,000 protesters at Kiev’s Maidan Nezalezhnosti (Independence Square), however, by the third night of the protest, the number had grown to tens of thousands and as high as 200,000 by some reports. On the night of November 24th, police used tear gas to disperse a small group of protesters attempting to storm the Cabinet of Ministers building. According to the officials, 200 protesters and police were injured as a result of the clash.

Occupation

Many refused to leave the Independence Square until the EU agreements were signed and a makeshift fortified camp was set up on-site in downtown Kiev. By the end of November, many university students and groups had joined the protests and a formal resolution was drafted and posted online:

1. Form a coordinating committee to communicate with the European community.

2. Call for Yanukovych’s resignation from his office, as the president, parliament and the Cabinet of Ministers aren’t capable of carrying out a geopolitically strategic course of development for the state.

3. Demand the cessation of political repressions against EuroMaidan activists, students, civic activists and opposition leaders.

Clashes with Riot Police

On November 30th, 2013, the protesters in Kiev were broken up violently by the Berkut riot police units, which in turn sparked a large number of similar protests across the rest of the country.

About

MDickie is an Indie Self-Developing Game Maker, he is widely know for his extremely frustrating games such as Wrestling Revolution, and Wrestling MPire.

History

MDickie first started making games in 2000, in which his games were only but simplistic 2D games, they weren’t all that good, they were made by Mat Dickie, which in this case he was also making them by himself, but most of his games were hated for its terrible controls, his only games that were worked on hard and went to receive reboots and praises was Popscene and Sure Shot .

After awhile, he started to make 3D Games, likewise, its actually worse, again hated for its awful controls, but one of his notable and also terrible, and controversial was The MDickie Show but after that, various remakes, and even an boxing game came that out of no where, after awhile, he make Wrestling Games, these were well known and had negativity/postivity for a reason, they were creative, as in creative, I mean things such as changing how you stand to modifying your own character with no restrictions, but then AWFUL controls came in..

Hard Time was also notable, but truly his most popular game, as having certain videos from popular youtubers such as, MessYourself and Nerd3, but in this case, the terrible controls still apply.

Even more reboots, pro mods from his fans, and silly games, after that he started to retire, at 2008, MDickie [Mat Dickie] started to retire, he said that after Wrestling MPire Remix 2008 had terrible reception, he stopped making games, it turned out to NOT be his last game, but he continued, his real last game was The You Testament, which probably is the most controversial game released by Mat Dickie yet…. But that was his last game.

Controversy

When The You Testament came out, some time later it was disliked, and negatively responed towards because of the awful controls. Most youtubes also noted out that it was violent, and this was a Bible Game.

Wrestling MPire Remix 2008 was also hated for the same reason, terrible controls, but some people enjoy this game, but as it is, it really gaining negative responses.

Reception

Most kids like this guy, ONLY for his rustling games, Mat Dickie has helped various people, been involved in various little things, and has been doing interviews ever since.

Arnavut Sevket’s Chipetpet is actually a part from a documentary. The documentary is called Istanbul’s Birds. The crew stumbles upon this man and they learn that he’s a expert on the bird sounds. He starts talking and tries to copy a goldfinch’s sound, but instead, he says chipetpet and tries to express the diffrences between the ’’delicious’’ and the normal goldfinches.

How did it spread? Well, a telephone providing company called Turkcell made an advertisement with Arnavut Sevket. After a while a sequel came to that advertisement.
