About
‘Little Dolls’ is a series of ‘unsettling’ portraits from Alain Delorme, a notable 4chan user who occasionally browses the /b/ and /p/ boards. Recently they’ve gotten popular on /b/ for having a strong Uncanny-Valley factor heavy applied, through photo-manipulative programs, to the ‘Dolls’ in the images.
Origin
Around October in 2013, an anonymous poster took to 4chan’s /b/ board to post a series of Alain Delorme’s ‘Little Dolls’ collection. Roughly an hour after posting the full set, the poster revealed himself to be none other than Alain himself. Gaining a reputation on 4chan for his weird works, the photographer started posting in /p/ boards to get himself recognized by the photography community. To his dismay, the internet hacking group Anonymous didn’t take kindly to his works involving children; going as far to label him a pedophile for attempting to make the girls in the ‘Little Dolls’ set appear attractive by applying adult eyes and mouth for an alluring & seductive effect. In spite of Alain Delorme, Anonymous edited the Little Dolls to look like famous 4chan figures. These vary from exchanging the girl’s faces with Chris Hansen, Christopher Poole, and many others. Nowadays, it isn’t just Anonymous anymore looking to making ‘lulzy’ edits but random 4chan users in general.
Spread
From time to time, at least once a day, one may get a glance of a ‘Little Dolls’ thread on the /b/ board. These threads are created by their respective OPs usually in hope to terrify other anons with the original work. Rarely, the threads are created in hopes that people can give their criticisms about the meaning behind the pictures. So far, this ‘meme’ has yet to breach onto other social sites apart from 4chan.
