About
Viper is the stage name of rapper Lee Carter. He is known for his untraditional style of hip-hop music, as well as for the sheer amount of music he has released, totaling over 300 individual albums.
Early Life
Carter was born in El Dorado, Arkansas, and later moved to Houston, Texas. He began rapping at the age of 9.[1]
Spread
Although it was not his first album, Viper’s most notable release, You’ll Cowards Don’t Even Smoke Crack, was released on February 19, 2008.[2][3]
The album, as well as Viper in general, was initially ignored by critics until some time in 2013, though upon its discovery, it was noted for its unorthodox, independent nature, as well as its bizarrely up-front album name and cover art.[4] In 2014 alone, Viper released 347 albums.
Internet Presence
Viper’s official Twitter account has nearly 45,000 followers.[5]
You’ll Cowards Don’t Even Smoke Crack has become a meme in and of itself, for the reasons previously mentioned, with various album cover parodies as proof of this. Viper’s other album covers are occasionally used as reaction images, due to their amateur quality, marked mostly by the overuse of clip art images, images of Viper, and poorly-overlaid text, as well as blunt and grammatically incorrect album names.
