I don’t know much about Katanas, help would be appreciated
About
Katanas are traditionally Japanese weapons that have been seen in the west as “Japanese”, gaining them popularity with “weeaboos”. This has caused mockery of those who own this weapon as trying too hard to be Japanese, and is lumped along with neckbeards and fedoras. The phrase “unsheathes Katana” has been used as an ironic phrase to poke fun of these types, along with tips fedora.
Origin
Katanas were first produced in the Muromachi period in feudal Japan, and have been a mainstay in Japanese weaponry since.
Spread
Owing it to being traditionally Japanese, Katanas have been seen being used a lot by characters in animes, leading to a weeaboo fascination of the weapon.

Katanas are Underpowered in D20 is a copypasta that complains about how katanas are far too good in real life to have such a “pathetic” stat block in the d20 system. It’s normally used as a way to impersonate katana entusiasts and japanophiles.
Glorious Nippon Steel Folded Over 1000 Times
“Glorious Nippon Steel Folded Over 1000 Times” is an ironic catchphrase use to impersonate and mock those who think katanas are vastly superior to western weapons. The folding is a reference to Japanese metal quality, lower than European, that made it treat its weapons by a folding process to remove impurities.[1] The catchphrase has been associated with a captioned gif from the videogame War Thunder, featuring a plane cutting a wing from another plane with its wing, inspired by a January 9th, 2014 video uploaded by youtuber chobit389.[2]
