Metal Crotch Guy refers to a skinny bald male with walking canes who appears in a bizarre performance art video. He has become popular for his entertaining part where he can be seen hitting a metal stick with a pole in his crotch.
Origin
The video is part of a clip of a performance art back in 2008 titled “Body Remix Goldberg Variationen arte” directed by Marie Chouinard[1], the whole video consists of a number of performers dressed in straps and underwear performing esoteric and bizarre dances and singing, set to a sometimes inharmonious piano in the background. At the 3:54 mark, a man dressed only in underwear with a metal pole strapped to his crotch area walking in 2 canes can be seen entering the stage as then he proceeds to get near a set of metal bars and proceeds to hit it after looking at the audience with a sinister grin.
Spread
The video didint got much attention until a small part of it was reposted by youtube user followthechosengeek titled “Weirdest Video You Will EVER See”[2]. The video then got popularized when Internet celebrity Ray William Johnson talked about the clip in his video “PICKING UP WOMEN”(shown below) which got 5,482,972 views and 92,783 likes, the former video now has 4,753,043 views and 24,736 likes.
