Lord Denethor is a troll. He was acting very rude from the beginning of his role in Peter Jackson’s “The Lord of the Rings: Return of the King”, basically due to his son’s death, but he went too far by joining Saruman’s troll army, and later becoming its lord after Saruman’s death.
