Normies is a term for “normal” or well-adjusted people usually used in a derogatory sense by those aware of their social awkwardness. In recent times the term has come to be associated with 4chan’s /r9k/ board.
Origin
An Urban Dictionary definition for “normies” was submitted in 2004.[1] One of the earliest known uses of “normies” on 4chan was in a post in a thread on the Japanese Culture (/jp/) board in 2008.[2] The earliest known use of “normies” on /r9k/ was made in 2012.[3]
