Riley Curry is the daughter of current Golden State Warrior point guard, Stephen Curry. She took the internet by storm, specifically Black Twitter in 2015 due to her interruptions in the middle of press conferences.
History
Riley Curry was born on July 19th, 2012[1]. On January 5th, 2015, in a video that received a little under 1 million views, Riley featured as a judge in a food competition against her parents.
NBA Playoffs
On May 19th, 2015, Riley showed up for her father’s post-game press conference, taking a large portion of the presses attention, after taking the microphone multiple times, and sitting on her father’s lap. The video of this was uploaded to NBA, and received 3 million views.
On May 27th, Riley returned with Curry to the post-game press conference, this being the final game before the NBA Finals, stealing the show once more.
Fan Response
Although most fans responded with strong positivity, some critics argued that she shouldn’t have been allowed into the conference, and that she was too comfortable with disrupting it. In response, mother responded with “I believe you should let your children be children, and don’t be afraid to be a parent, regardless of who’s watching.”[2].
