Life Sized Meme (aka Pitch-a-Meme) refers to a segment of the Ubisoft press conference during the 2015 Electronic Entertainment Expo in which hostess Aisha Taylor talks with an audience member and comments on how he is a “life-sized meme” and asks him if he wishes to “pitch a meme?” The segment instantly became notorious for its cringeworthy factor.
Origin
During the livestreamed E3 2015 Ubisoft press conference, hostess Aisha Taylor sat down with a member of the audience in a bid to try and get him to “pitch a meme”. During this numerous Twitch users and YouTube commenters began mocking the attempt. On 4chan multiple threads sprung up on the site’s /v/ board discussing the event.[1][2][3][4]
Spread
Immediately following the event YouTuber Jonathan S uploaded a clip of the segment (shown below, left). Later that same day YouTuber GoldenGuy uploaded an edited version of the event which tallied everytime the word “meme” was used as well as the “awkwardness level” (shown below, right). In just 3 days both videos reached over 20,000 views.
Also that same day, YouTuber ProJared uploaded his thoughts on the Ubisoft press conference, during which he have his thoughts on the segment, stating that he believed it was the “low point” of the conference (shown below).
