“Tell Me, Do You Bleed?” is a memorable quote from the film DC’sBatman vs Superman: Dawn of Justice, in which Batman questions if the seemingly invincible alien, Superman, can bleed. He then follows up with the words “You will.” indicating his intention to hurt Superman. It is often parodied on the web.
Origin
On April the 16th, 2015 the teaser trailer for the film Batman vs Superman: Dawn of Justice was published by Warner Bros. Pictures on their YouTube channel. In the video, at 1:35 in the video, the quote “Tell me, do you bleed? You will.” is said.
Spread
Shortly after the video was released, the trailer was posted around the web, on sites like 4chan’s /co/ board and images from the trailer with the quote were posted. Soon after that, parodies and image-macros of the line were posted on places like 4chan, memebase and subreddits like r/funny and r/dccomics.
